GAIA

GAIA is an organisation dedicated to the culture of peace, social and environmental justice and sustainable living. Our mission is to work towards peace, social and environmental justice by being an example for alternative and regenerative ways of living. The main activities of GAIA are international volunteer programs, non-formal education and permanent community-based programs, in places which are facing different social or environmental challenges such as systemic discrimantion, social isolation and ethnicity based division. GAIA has around 30 members from different communities and ethnic groups from all around Kosovo and abroad. Since 2014, GAIA is a full member of Service Civil International (SCI), a global volunteer organisation dedicated to promoting a culture of peace by organising international voluntary projects for people of all ages and backgrounds. GAIA currently the following programs: 1. Permaculture and natural building program in Bozevce - aims to establish an estate based on permaculture ethics and principles which will be an inspiring example for social and environmental regeneration. 2. The Program of Mitrovica was founded in 2018 with the intent to work towards breaking down multiple barriers in an inert divided city. 3. Since 2016, we have been present in the Roma community in Gracanica, with the aim to empower the young members of the community so that they will believe in and fight for a better future.
