Delegação de Torres Vedras - Cruz Vermelha Portugesa

The Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa - Delegação Torres Vedras (Portuguesa Red Cross), with five years of activity, has been intensifying its work in this community. The Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa - Delegação Torres Vedras support in 2018 with baskets of food and hygiene products 70 families in our municipality (Torres Vedras). We have the "Gabinete + Saúde" - Health Office - (Psychology and Speech Therapy consultations for children, youth and adults) and a Baby and Child Solidarity store (which offers clothes, shoes, toys, books and equipment), and a youth team organizing with their own projects and activities - Solidarity Agenda, the Easter Holiday Program for Children and the Sun Protection Awareness. The emergency team, of this Delegation is made up of 34 first responders, a team that has been present at local events such as the Torres Vedras Carnival, the Pilgrim Support or the OceanSpirit Festival, as well as a great attendance at sporting events throughout the Region, highlighting football matches of the national men's and women's teams. In 2016, the delegation won the 2nd edition of the Torres Vedras City Council participatory budget, starting the "Gabinete + Emprego" with a focus on integrating the unemployed, improving their skills through contact with companies, publicizing job vacancies, holding practical training and workshops focusing on active job search.
