Kuruluş Hakkında
The Liébana Local Action Group is a non-profit making Association formed by public and private entities of the Region. Since 1996 it has managed several rural development programmes, the most important being Proder, Prodercan and Leader Cantabria. It operates in seven town councils: Potes, Camaleño, Cabezón de Liébana, Castro Cillorigo, Vega de Liébana, Pesaguero and Tresviso. The Liébana Local Action Group is a non-profit making Association which aims to serve as a nucleus of convergence and representation of all the participants, entities and agents interested in the integral development of the Region, in order to achieve the following objectives: - To promote the rural development of the area. - To favour the actions of the economic and social agents and local entities that intervene in the area, to exchange, coordinate and manage programmes and activities that facilitate rural development. - To guarantee the equity in the treatment of projects and initiatives. - To favour actions aimed at the full incorporation of women and young people into the economic, political and social structures of the area. - To study the problems of the area of action, in order to promote measures which facilitate development in a comprehensive manner, including - Technical support for rural development. - Strengthening of the sense of the region. - Raising the population's awareness of development. - Promotion of agrarian development. - Training. - Specific attention to social services. - Promotion of rural tourism. - Care of the environment. - Promoting consensual land use planning. - Promoting new planning and management of hunting resources. - Promote and support small businesses, crafts and the recovery and enhancement of our culture and traditions. - Integration in networks of regional, national and supranational development groups and promote exchanges with groups from other areas. The activities to be carried out by the Local Action Group will be those legal activities aimed at fulfilling these objectives, as agreed by the General Assembly. We are also involved in projects focused on rural youth in the area. It is part of: - Cantabrian Network of Rural Development and the Spanish Network of Rural Development - International Association "Caminos de Arte Rupestre Prehistórico" ("European Rock Art Trails"), which manages the Council of Europe Cultural Route "Prehistoric Rock Art Trails The Group recently presented the Chafea project, a programme aimed at promoting the European Union's agri-foodstuffs, with which we intend to promote the products of our area within the EU framework.
