Município de Vagos

Vagos Municipality’s vision is a multidimensional character based on the development of a sustainable and intelligent strategy for the economic growth as well as to show Vagos as an attractive territory with the capacity to fix population and provide it with a high standard of living. Vagos Strategic Plan is the result of a study carried out in the municipality; this study established the Key Actions and target actions for the next 20 years. It arises from this study that the main priority for Vagos Municipality is the economic area, followed by Social Inclusion. Among the most requested actions are the support to the economic and social development, improvement in the quality of the existing infrastructures to support local economy and qualification of the workforce. Intervention areas and strategic goals: Economics (strengthening the economy and creating jobs; protecting the natural heritage and sharing it); Urban Spaces (promoting functional and attractive urban spaces with a strong identity); Social Inclusion (reinforcing social inclusion and improving access to basic services); Life Quality (increase quality of life and community participation). It is based on this multidimensional and transversal approach, that Vagos Municipality is developing a set of projects and activities to improve local living conditions, taking a long-term impact perspective.
