Fekedi Szülőföldünk Baráti Kör

The organization is the only non-governmental organization in the small german-hungarian settlement, in Feked, which was formed with a community-building intent to nurture the relationship between the descendants/expatriates and locals of Feked. In the 1980s, many of the younger generations left the village and settled in nearby towns, but to this day they are spending their weekends in Feked. Their ambition is that both locals and descendants/expatriates, their children and grandchildren should feel an attachment to Feked, their hometown. Their goal is to preserve, develop and beautify the architectural and natural values of the village and to preserve and pass on the German culture and traditions to the next generation. The association organizes cultural and leisure programs, even the local folk dance group, choir and orchestra is mostly made up of its members. By immersing oneself in the activities of the association, the volunteer can gain insight into the operation, everyday life and social relations of a small (150-200 people) community that can be explored in a few months.
