La Bascule

La Bascule proposes, on its scale, to set up levers to modify the balance of a system which operates on the head, make it switch towards a new relationship between the Nature and Humans, of which it is a part, and between humans themselves. La Bascule implements concrete solutions to these questions about territory of the Valley of the Creuse, through its resource center, its workshops self-repair, creative transformation and awareness. The association's mission is to involve and make residents interact on current environmental issues, by questioning them about our lifestyles, production and consumption, by informing them and making them actively participate in solutions. The recycling center is based on the principle of the circular economy, which contributes to the development of the local economy and the protection of the environment by giving a new life to objects that people want to get rid of. By collecting them, reconditioning them and redistributing them at a fair price, these objects do not become waste and do not use new natural resources to be produced. By taking part in a popular education approach, we imagine this place as a space for experimentation and meetings, for social and intergenerational diversity, promoting emancipation through collective and democratic practices, exchanges of knowledge and sharing of know-how. With a team of volunteers and employees, La Bascule is teeming with ideas to develop its project, both social and environmental !
