"Grigore Moisil" School Ploiesti

"Grigore Moisil" School is an educational institution dedicated to kinderharten children, primary and secondary pupils, aged 3 to 15. It was founded in 1965, in a neighbourhood of working-class people. At present, the inhabitants have got old and the number of pupils is getting down. However, our school has a large number of pupils, over 1,200, some of them coming from villages around, from 10 even 30-40 kilometres. This is a result of our students good results and our educational offer. Our school has special sport primary and secondary classes, for students to practise swimming and basketball. It is actually the only school in the area with this type of offer. Moreover, there are drama, chess, Art or dance clubs in our school. This is also a disadvantage, our classes being overnumbered, with more than 35 students. That's why they have to learn in two shifts. There are more than 65 teachers in school and and other 10 auxiliary and non didactic stuff. Another good point for our school is the after-school programme for primary students.The good results of our students are due to the high standards of profesionalism of our teachers, their permanent interest in finding and applying mofern teaching methods. It is a modern school, with multimedia equipment and internet connection. There are also students with special needs and socially disadvantaged, around 3 percent.
