Urla Municipality

Urla Municipality is local government institution in Urla which is situated 35 km far from İzmir City Center. Urla is a coastal city with fertile soils. Urla's history dates back to 3000 BC. Population of Urla is around 60000 but in summers the population drastically increase due to tourism. Our Municipality is consist of 16 directorate which deals issues carefully according to needs of Urla. As Municipality our mission is to promote sustainable local development with developing democratic and healthy city. As Urla Municipality we organize several activities during the year such as Urla International Artichoke Festival, Urla Scarecrow Festival, and Urla International Grape Harvest Day to promote local producers and gastronomy tourism. As well as local development gender equality is also a priority for our municipality. Empowering women in our city we prepared gender balance budget, established Woman and Family Services Directorate which work as an intermediary institution develop social policies and activities to empower women both in economic and social life in Urla.
