ADEP - Associação Desportiva Penamacorense

The Associação Desportiva Penamacorense, also known as ADEP is a Sports Club based in the village of Penamacor, a calm, rural and bordering municipality in the portuguese countryside. It was on May 3, 1978, by public deed, that the Associação Desportiva Penamacorense was officially established. This association originated in the first "Associação Cultural Desportiva e Recreativa de Penamacor", which arose from the unification of two other groups existing in the parish of Penamacor and that lasted several decades: the "Clube Desportivo de Penamacor", known as the "poor" association of the village and the "Teatro Clube de Penamacor”, known as the “rich” association. ADEP is partner nº 1442 of the Football Association of Castelo Branco, having participated in an official competition for the first time in its history, in the District Youth Championship in the 1978/79 season and in the senior category, the 1981/82 season . It was in senior football that ADEP stood out, carrying the name of the town and municipality to the National Events. For four consecutive seasons, ADEP competed in the 3rd National Division. In 2011/12, as a result of the economic crisis that hit the country, ADEP abdicated its senior team, betting from 2012/13 on senior futsal. In parallel to Football and Men's Futsal, ADEP has already had a senior women's Futsal team and has already had federated sports sections in Athletics, Sport Fishing, Archery and Motor Sports.
