In the beginning, there was a dream about a space where youth in Trnava would meet, create relationships, develop their skills, get involved and take a break from electronics. In 2021, it started with a visit to the Italian city of Trento, where youth clubs have been operating successfully for many years and the inspiration from the Dolomites was brought here by the working team of the City of Trnava - to the point. Trnava's youth also answered this in an online questionnaire - whether they would be interested in such a clubhouse in Trnava at all. The result was clear. 97% of teenagers said yes to the clubs. Today, three clubhouses are fully operational in Trnava: Modranka, Saigon and Linka. The plan is to create similar spaces for children aged 12 and over in every district of the city. The Zátvor and Pyžamo clubhouses are on the horizon. The project belongs to the Trnava Leisure Centre and is led by the award-winning youth worker, Lukáš Hrošovský. Each clubhouse has its own coordinator and a group of animators and volunteers who direct the atmosphere of the clubhouse so that healthy relationships prevail. THE CLUBHOUSE IS RULED BY WELL-BEING, HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS, BUT ALSO RULES To make children feel at ease, there is very open communication in the clubhouses. The all-inclusive package naturally includes rules, like in any community. Children know that sometimes you have to grab a sponge or a vacuum cleaner by the hair. Politeness, friendly behavior and mutual respect are a matter of course. "Energy drinks", cigarettes and alcohol definitely do not belong in the clubhouse. We think ecologically and economically - we recycle, back up and turn off the lights. We know that ping-pong rackets also need to be returned to their place. Even though not everyone wants the same thing, it works very well. WHAT DOES THE CLUB PROGRAM LOOK LIKE? Each club prepares activities in agreement with the young people. Popular activities include pancake baking, idleness, board game tournaments, pumpkin festivals, various workshops, chocolate day, movie nights, dancing, book swaps, but also outdoor activities.
