The organization For Better Future was established in 2002 under the title of the "Youth Association of Akhalgori,” however, as a result of the South Ossetian War in August 2008, the organization was internally displaced. These events brought changes in the organization's goals and objectives, and the organization was renamed "For Better Future". Since establishment, the organization has carried out many events, charity actions, educational and cultural projects, as well as healthy lifestyle activities. These activities have significantly contributed to the mobilization of Local Internally Displaced people (IDP) communities and raised the potential of civil activity on a local level. The goal of the organization is to work specifically with women and youth promoting civil society and the integration of Internally Displaced People, also to raise their awareness about solving problems in a peaceful way. Mission of the organization: The mission of the Non-Commercial Non-Enterprise Legal Entity For Better Future is to build a strong community that promotes the economic and social welfare of women and youth through self-empowerment and equal representation. For Better Future empowers IDP women and youth by providing professional development training and peace building skills in order to promote a sustainable community with effective and active civic participation. Specifically, our organization supports economic development through Social Entrepreneurship. We established a small social enterprise where IDP women design and produce enamel jewelry. Most of our organization's beneficiaries are IDPs from the 2008 conflict and they have limited communication with residents of the occupied territory, therefore the peace building and conflict-resolution process for the South Ossetia region is a primary focus for our organization. NGO For Better Future seeks to create an enabling environment to achieve its goals based on the core values of peace, social justice, partnership, solidarity, cooperation and innovation.
