Pro Loco Colonna is a grass-roots organization born in 1970. It’s a no profit organization and the activities are organized in the territory of the Municipality of Colonna. Colonna is a town with a population around 4,200 located in the Albani Hills area, a quiescent volcanic complex near Rome. Colonna is the smallest town of the “Castelli Romani” (The towns in the Albani Hills are so called) and it’s known for its wonderful countryside. Pro Loco Colonna has almost 50 years of expertise and is part of the Italian Pro Loco Association (italian acronym UNPLI). “Pro Loco” is a Latin phrase that means roughly “in favor of the place”. Our activity is totally focused on the develop, enhancement and promotion of our town. Our scope is to be meeting point, especially among local farmers, farm holders, schools and municipalities of our area. That’s why we often organize educative activities, visits to museums, training course for young entrepreneur, events to develop and promote tourism in our town and for the knowledge of our local excellences and cultural heritage. Tourist promotion is really important for us. We work every day to enhance our tourism quality and accessibility. All our events and festivals are very popular and every time thousands of people walk, drink, eat, enjoy and learn new things about our territory in our streets. We also work about environment problems. We often organize meetings about a correct use of our natural resources and mitigation policies for climate changes.
