Municipal Slochteren

Jongerenwerk Slochteren (Youth work) is a department of the municipality of Slochteren, dedicated to increasing the livability of the young in the municipality. That increase is brought to the youth by 1 youth worker and two trainees that interact with local politics, the municipality and sometimes social services to help those with serious needs. The youth workers also act as coaches to help those from lesser starting points in life to grow up to people who can sustain a social and prosperous life. Their main goals are: * to promote participation of the youth finding their way into society and in politics; * to create awareness and education around important issues to the young; * to strengthen social connections in neighborhoods and to encourage local initiatives for youngsters; * to inspire, stimulate and motivate young people in their personal development. The municipality of Slochteren want their young people to have as many chances as can be to grow into fantastic, inspiring people getting the most and the best out of their lives.
