Roumieh Municipality

Roumieh Municipality is a governmental institution. However, last year, and in an attempt to address the civic society, it was decided to open opportunities for less advantaged kids to enroll in an artistic and cultural program aiming at exploring their potentials and creativity. we provide Art, Art and Crafts, Dance, and Drama classes. The Lebanese curriculum is very academically oriented, leaving no room for any extra curricular activities, a policy that we highly disapprove of. Artistic activities are vital to children's development and a determinant factor in their future orientation. In addition to that, and after the success of the initiative with the kids, a section was opened for women too, offering artisan work classes as well as dance classes. My ambition as a youth trainer and cultural coordinator, is to have our kids participate in youth exchange programs. I also have future plans with them that include Human Rights workshops specifically designed for their age. Our initiative is young, but we dream big. Thank you
