Axcent vzw

Axcent vzw is a pluralist organisation that works on encouraging and promoting interreligious and interconvictional dialogue with young people. Since 2004, we have been committed to dialogue and cooperation between religions and convictions in Brussels. With as main objective to increase social cohesion and a better mutual understanding as a starting point for acceptance. At Axcent we don’t enter into theological or philosophical debates. Instead, we choose to focus our efforts on cooperation and exchange around social themes and existential questions. Like this, we make dialogue accessible for all people, not only for (religious) experts. Axcent works through a multi-faceted approach: * We organize activities, projects, visits, discussion groups and trips that enable people to explore individually and collectively questions of life and meaning * Axcent produces films, discussion documents, city games and other educational tools to guide users through a complex society in which religions and philosophical convictions are more relevant than ever * Axcent nurtures reflection on opportunities, possibilities and limits of dialogue between religions and convictions * Axcent raises awareness within the authorities, civil society level and communities about the significance of religion and ideology in society To realize this, we partner up with everyone: believers, atheists, doubters, seekers, cultural services, community centres, youth movements, schools, poverty associations, museums, synagogues, churches, mosques, free-thinkers’ associations, temples, pagodas…
