Branch Association Polymers

Branch Association Polymers (BAP) is the only non-profit organisation in Bulgaria which at the national level representing plastics convertors, companies trading with polymer raw materials and recycler companies. Key principles of our activity are circular economy, sustainability and environmental protection. BAP is working to insure that Bulgaria is working towards effective waste collection and management, being one of the last places in the EU in terms of the collection and recovery of plastic waste. BAP supports the creation of a common vision for a truly circular and resource efficient Europe, the promotion of actions aimed at tackling the release of plastics into the environment, enhancing recycling and reuse and promoting innovation. On order to fulfil its aims the organisation: • tackles the growing amount of plastic waste and stem the tide of marine litter in our sea with measures to prevent littering, and by making the plastics economy circular, by organising seminars, projects and campaigns which help to understand, monitor and combat the rise of marine litter. • gathers evidence to determine the scope of a legislative initiative on single use plastics and fishing gear at national and European level. • acts on compostable and biodegradable plastics to make sure consumers have reliable information on their use.
