Colab House

CoLab House is a social cooperative enterprise with the purpose of exploring sustainable and innovative ways to provide spaces, knowledge and support to young people, artists, municipalities, social actors and social initiatives, in order to magnify their potential and impact. Our path is toward sustainable living, meaningful work, youth participation and respect in the living environment. We bring together young people, artists, digital nomads, explorers, researchers and travellers to co-develop actions and to create. Our base is a community space that was formed at the end of 2019 in Chalandri - Athens and serves as the connective knob for various initiatives. The enterprise’s activity is mainly space employment: we can offer collaborative spaces, studio and workshop areas with live-streaming and remote working capabilities with the additional capacity to accommodate up to 20 people. We also provide consultancy and training to the youth departments of municipalities that wish to engage more young people to their activities, involve them in decition making and empower them through creative youth strategies. At the moment we are forming our tinkering lab at the basement area of our premises, in cooperation with TransfoLAB BCN. The lab will be focused on design, innovation, production and experimentation with waste, the circular economy and environmental sustainability. Lastly, the collective is implementing sustainable interventions, such as urban gardens, energy, upcycling and recycling practices and is designing energy efficient solutions in order to minimise the impact of the house and aiming to make it carbon neutral by 2025.
