Efeler District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry was founded in 2012 as a public body. It has 3 service buildings and a meeting hall. There are currently 32 agricultural engineers, 22 veterinarians, 6 food engineers, 16 agricultural/veterinarian technicians’ employees in the public institution. The primary mission of Efeler District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry is gathering the necessary information and making proposals for the development of the district and the preparation of programs and projects in the fields of service and duty for the increase of the income and living standards of the farmers. In addition: -To prepare and implement extension programs for the education of the farmer. -To convey new technologies and information about the protection of environmentally sensitive natural resources and sustainability to farmers. -To prepare the agricultural extension program of the district, to cooperate with producers, producer organizations, universities and private sector in order to realize the program. -To ensure that all kinds of agricultural publications are delivered to its employees, consumers and farmers in the district, -To carry out studies that will help the processing, evaluation, marketing of agricultural products and the establishment of necessary facilities for this, and to guide producers and entrepreneurs in this regard. -To create an agricultural sector that is economically, ecologically and socially sustainable, efficient, has a developed agricultural industry, can produce quality, healthy food, and biodiversity is protected. The vision of Efeler District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry is a sustainable agriculture sector integrated with information and technology, compatible with national and international standards, a leader in its region and integrated with world markets. Our institution, which is responsible for agriculture and all activities based on agriculture, acts with the mission of determining, implementing, monitoring and evaluating innovative policies in order to ensure sustainable agricultural production, access to sufficient and reliable food, rural development and competitiveness. In 2021, 2544 farmers were trained in 98 trainings held in Efeler, according to the "Farmer Training Program" jointly prepared by our Institution and our Ministry. With these trainings, we aim to ensure the sustainability of agricultural and ecological resources, accessibility to safe food and quality agricultural products, to protect the green environment, and to train those who produce in the agricultural sector in order to obtain more quality and efficient products, and we continue to work in these areas. In addition, as the District Directorate, we have a new phone application project called "e- efeler agriculture", which we wrote to our Ministry and was accepted. With this project, our farmers will be provided with a great convenience in terms of digital transition. The most important outputs of this project are to support our producers who participate in the production season intensively, to reach the producer instantly and on-site with the smart phone application, and to increase the welfare level of the producers. Efeler District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has prepared an Adult Education project named "Smart Agriculture Smart Farmer" in 2022. We'll start our project activities in the next period. Our directorate is open to cooperate for new projects to be prepared.
