Established in 1973 in Çatalca, Istanbul, the Nesin Foundation is an internationally recognized NGO dedicated to supporting children with fewer opportunities through a rights-based, environmentally sensitive approach. Vakıf tanıtım The Foundation provides a long-term home for around 40 children who face social, economic or other barriers to quality education, welcoming them between the ages of 0–12 and supporting them until they can stand on their own feet. Beyond meeting their basic needs, the Foundation offers additional educational support and diverse extracurricular activities in arts, science, sports and ecology within a child-friendly campus. It also promotes innovative, pluralistic and child-centered educational practices, organizing trainings and capacity-building activities for educators and volunteers in areas such as Children’s Rights, Philosophy for Children, permaculture and non-violent communication. Founded by renowned writer Aziz Nesin, the Foundation also serves as a cultural center, preserving a rich library, archives and museum while supporting children’s literature publishing. Through these combined social, educational and cultural efforts, the Foundation aims to raise confident, socially responsible and critically minded individuals.
