NGO Ecos do Sur, founded in 1991, it's a non-governmental organization for development, non religious, independent and non-profit. The organization structural and usual activities are: 1- Welcome to migrant people: First assessment in which it provides general information and guidance tailored to the needs and demands of each individual person. 2- Specific programs of guidance, health, training and social integration and employment. - Guidance and mediation through the Work Guidance Program (SOLI) - Legal advice through the Service of Information and Advice for Immigrants (CIAI). - Social health attention with the Programme for Prevention and Control of different Diseases like TB, HIV_AIDS, through talks and activities of guidance, information and education on health and through psychological care in the Mental Health Service. - Training: looking for social integration, basic and transversal skills (Spanish language and digital skills) - Occupational Training (support for young people with fewer opportunities, adult education, training for recognition of Attitudes and Skills at European level, intercultural mediation). - Specific program for vulnerable groups, such as prisoners in jail or woman victims of gender violence, where younger groups are the most disadvantaged. 3- European Projects: Our NGO participates in European programs since 2010 through various programs: - : Youth in Action (Migration Vs Self Employment) - : Life Long Learning - Grundtvig (European Voluntary) - : Youth in Action (Youth Exchanges) - 2014: Erasmus + (Youth Exchanges and Strategic Partnerships) 4- International Cooperation: actually, Ecos do SUR operates also in international cooperation fields, namely in cooperation for development, aiming to help and support the development of the South countries (Mozambique, Peru, Honduras, Bangladesh, Chad, Senegal, among others). Generally aiming: - The awareness development, information and training of migrants for social inclusion, personal and family development, health care, drugs prevention, European citizenship, intercultural learning, disadvantaged groups empowerment (www.interculturalidade.net); - The preparation of the future through discussing and sharing experiences about using and developing new technologies, labour market and employment issues, equal opportunities, study and working methods and migration; - The guidance and training on associative attitudes and cooperation values, environment, sustainable development, culture, sports and leisure. - Increase the participation of young people as citizens to promote European awareness. ECOS DO SUR is an entity declared Public Utility by the MINISTRY OF INTERIOR INT/ Order as of April 27 (BOE 03/06/2005) and has a Quality Management System based on standard UNE EN ISO 9001:2008 AENOR certified externally. This Quality Management System is implemented in: Legal advice through the Service of Information and Advice for Immigrants, the Social health attention and the Guidance and mediation through the Work Guidance Program.
