Civil Society Institute is a non-governmental organization established in 1998. It is based Yerevan which aims to assist and promote the establishment of a free and democratic society in Armenia and foster dialogue and mutual understanding with neighboring societies. It seeks to accomplish its goals and tasks within the framework of two departments - Peace building and Conflict Transformation and Human Rights. CSI is the Armenian member orgnisation of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH). CSI also became as an official Chapter of PeaceJam foundation in 2014. The mission of the Foundation is to create young leaders to positive change in themselves, their communities and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates. Since 2006 CSI has been partner orgnisation in number of Youth in Action Projects implemented both in Armenia and abroad as well as sending and hosting EVS orgnisation. There are 11 regular employees in CSI and about 50 local volunteers interns. CSI generally works with includes society, local communities, students, schoolchildren, teachers, university professors, journalists, public bodies, local and international governmental aNd non governmental orngisations etc. The regular activities of CSI are as follows: conferences, seminars, lectures, workshops and trainings, monitoring in close institutions , consultancy, conducting surveys and researches etc. Activities with youth include methods of non formal education. CSI has a number of publications about human rights issues, juvenile justice system in Armenia and etc. CSI is very active working with media preparing radio and TV programmes. CSI administers www.hra.am (Human Rights in Armenia) portal. CSI also is a board member of Child protection network in Armenia. CSI is interested in cooperating with orgnisations from various European countries, in order to be able to host and send volunteers from/to various European countries with various backgrounds. CSI is ready to work with volunteers with different profiles and highlights the open and transparent process of informing about Erasmus+ activities and the selection of candidates of volunteers in order to provide equal opportunities for youth interested in Erasmus+ activities as well as in EVS.
