Kinderladen Kulturschlüssel e.V.

The Kinderladen Kulturschlüssel e. V. is a parent’s initiative kindergarten with a specifically developed pedagogical concept which focuses on intercultural education and studio work based on Reggio. It was founded by a group of parents and educators in April 2002. The Kinderladen Kulturschlüssel e.V. is a kindergarten located in Berlin Kreuzberg, the focus of which is on cultural togetherness. Approx. 20 children between the ages of 2 and 6 are looked after by 3-4 teachers. Many of the children come from culturally “diverse” families and speak another language at home besides German. The cultural diversity and togetherness is a central part of the educational work. Finding out differences, recognizing strengths and developing an interest in the others is experienced every day. It is important to us that the educational staff also reflects this cultural diversity. For this reason, a volunteer from the European voluntary service is an enrichment for both children, their parents as well as educators.
