Linus-onderwijs/Stichting Scala

Linus-onderwijs (Athena) Primary School is a zone school for children of 4-12 years old. As the pupils are highly gifted, they need special attention in how to live life. There are two specialist artist teachers so the children can develop their creativity. An English teacher and a computer programming teacher. As highly gifted children have a high risk of failing during high school or Bachelor study, Linus-onderwijs (Athena) has been founded to reduce this risk. At Linus-onderwijs they think it is relevant that responsible education is offered to these pupils with their specific needs (structure, plan of action, perseverance, selfreflection, demands). Attention is given to the structuring of the thinking steps that children make and the promotion of a reflective, research-oriented attitude. Challenges are offered to the children, so that they are actively involved in their own learning process and thus also directed to their own development. Since 2020 the successful expertise of Linus-onderwijs (Athena) has been spread to other schools.
