Centar za mlade Krizevci

Centar za mlade Križevci (Youth Centre Križevci) was founded in order to create and conduct research, strategic documents and projects of interest to the community, to promote and develop volunteering climate, provide rehabilitational and educational as well as psycho-social and pedagogical help for those that need it. To educate and provide information to the public, protect theenvironment and promote humanitarian values. One of the main goals is to help young people in achieving their goals and rights, promote their work and social values within the Republic of Croatia. The organisation was founded in 2008. and in the past 10 years we have been constatnly trying to gain new skills and gather as much experience as possible in the field of youthwork and volunteering. We started a local volunteering centre "Volonterski centar Link" in 2014., it`s aim is to provide voluntary service, organise voluntary projects/activities such as international workcamps, free instructions for students and promote voluntarism in Križevci and places near Križevci. As of last month have more than 140 volunteers in our volunteering base. In cooperation with Volonterski centar Zagreb and Service Civil International, this year we carried out 4. international volunteering camp - a short-term voluntary service during which people from all around the world live and work together on a project for 2 weeks. The name of the project was "United in art and sport", the project gathered 10 international volunteers from Spain, Germany, Thailand, Mexico, Portugal and Belgium and 10 local volunteers. The project consisted from planning, organising and making workshops for children. Workshops consisted of artistic and physical activities such as sport, dance and games. Workshops` aim was also to represent cultural heritage of volunteers` country through dances, songs, making of traditional jewellery, painting ornaments, etc.
