About Organization
MTÜ Lapsepõlve Akadeemia (NGO Academy of Childhood) is the organisation that has been working with kids, youth, their parents and educational professionals for over 15 years using non-formal and informal educational methods. Over the years, it has been developing the approaches and methodology to provide even better service in educating local population. The leader of the NGO is self-employed entrepreneur who has established self-sufficient and self-sponsored kindergarten, where specialists use different methods to create safe environment for kids and guarantee their adequate social, behavioral, physical and emotional development. Throughout the year Akadeemia organizes numerous workshops to attract more specialists and parents, youth and kids to their activities, which promote social inclusion, equality, helping national minorities to have equal possibilities in our country and our city. Our center is unique because the age of the kids differs from 2 top 6 years old with a different social and cultural background. We also have kids with special needs, as we think that integration and inclusion is a guarantee of a safe society. Though Lapsepõlve Akadeemia's priority is working with under-school aged kids, there are many side activities with teens and young people are held. These are workshops at public schools (e.g. games sessions), practical lessons in the kindergarten itself (e.g. when high school pupils come to to play with kids with special needs), training courses, projects. Akadeemia promotes ethical and humane environment for people from their early age - kids of different age and backgrounds are together under the guidence of professional teachers who treat them as equals. They also develop social inclusion methods to bring the society to tolerance and kindness.
