About Organization
Modra pikica is a private educational organization, which has also a private kindergarten, called the Children's House Bežigrad as our main activity. The kindergarten was founded by Živa Ribičič and was registered by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Sport in 2016. This means that it receives co-financing of the municipalities and the Ministry. In the school year 2018/19, the kindergarten has 60 children in four groups and 14 full-time employees. We are also preparing different European projects. In the kindergarten we employ Montessori pedagogues who have been educated in Slovenia, the kindergarten is also a hosting organization in the Erasmus plus program. Our main goals are: - to provide a high-quality preschool education for children from the age 1-6 - to raise and educate children to be open to all cultures, languages, religions, societies, people - to educate children in a multilingual environment: we are employing English speaking teachers (3); Italian speaking - they are using those languages 8 hours per day with children Our target groups are: - children from the age of 1 to 6 years - kindergarten teachers - parents of children – students volunteering for practice work - people volunteering for other projects (art, sustainable education, music, sport. health...) - companies and other organizations around our kindergarten - local people in Ljubljana Bežigrad - other private and state kindergartens (we organize seminars, common activities) - Montessori community Kindergarten activities:: - the activity of raising and educating children within Montessori programme - seminars on different topics (reading, language, Montessori, parents support) - supporting students at practical work - supporting volunteers at their projects -participating in different Erasmus plus projects Among the main activity, our organization as a non- profit and private organization - NGO as such it carries out the following activities: Afternoon activities for children and parents from our local environment We are carrying out different activities: NTC programme – Modra pikica is a certified center for Ljubljana – for preschool children (The NTC Program is a program of activities designed to promote the development of motor and cognitive abilities in pre-school and school-age children. Program has been founded by dr. Ranko Rajović) Montessori programmes for children and parents of babies and toddlers with parents or without them. A support group for parents from Ljubljana region called: Mother is not alone – a support system for mums at the maternity leave – it is important to support nuclear families without other support, mothers can come to this group every day from 9 am to 3 pm. Charity activities – we support socially deprivileged families from the local environment – we carried out a few actions and in March 2019 we are starting organized charity system with a little shop of donated children's outdoor clothes and books. A support groups for gifted children: NTC system has a section for gifted children – a programme is free and supported from an NTC Srbija. Different seminars for different target groups – we are also offering a lot of free of charge courses for parents and teachers. We are hosting organization for different volunteers (parents, elderly adults, students, unemployed. Volunteers have mentorship and support. We are also an organization which is supporting deaf and hard of hearing people as one Slovene sign language interpreter is employed in the organization and our projects are connected with deaf and deaf culture, language. We are well connected to the local environment and also with organizations from other countries.
