KLUB ŠTUDENTOV KRANJ

Klub študentov Kranj (KŠK) is a voluntary, independent, non-profit organisation of students with the aim of connecting and educating their members. Student events in the organisation are based on four pillars: 1. The Education Department offers educational workshops, courses, lectures and excursions. Want to learn how to program in Python? Do you need to overcome your fear of public speaking? Would you like to take part in a knowledge quiz? We've got you covered. Our biggest yearly project that attracts a number of local youth is Students to Pupils. It is a non-formal informative day, organised by university students. They pass their knowledge and experience to high school students that seek information about different faculties, student accommodation, benefits etc. 2. The Culture Department carries out creative workshops, cultural events, relaxing evenings and parties. We organize a battle of unacclaimed bands, a short film competition, stand up comedy evenings, silent parties and more. 3. The Social and Health Department helps young parents with the Young mothers project. We organise activities for families, theater performances for children etc. We also promote environmental awareness with our Zero waste project. 4. The Sports Department encourages a healthy mind in a healthy body with various activities, free recreation and tournaments. Volleyball, climbing, savate and pool are just a few activities to choose from. KŠK also organizes the biggest youth festival in Slovenia called Youth Week. It happens every May and offers more than 50 different workshops and events over the course of 9 days. Like all projects in the organisation, it is organised by volunteers. The organisation also supports international activities, with its volunteers participating in training courses and organising youth exchanges. The organisation publishes a club newsletter Zapik, has a website (http://www.ksk.si) and a photo section, and beside its various activities offers a lot of different benefits for their members. KŠK is a learning platform for young people. Therefore, everyone is welcome to join and contribute their ideas or start their own project that will benefit the local community.
