About Organization
The Center for Development and Democracy (CDD) was established on February 26, 2008 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Vision of CDD is Open, democratic, inclusive and consolidated society in Georgia. Mission of CDD is to promote and assist Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration via facilitation of dialogue and awareness raising, inclusion and consolidation of Georgian Society. The organization is actively involved in strengthening the democratic processes and the rule of law, supporting gender equality, promoting development of the civil sector, advocacy, voter education, enhancing civil awareness and citizens’ involvement in current reforms. The organization is often the initiator of the legislative initiatives/changes and is actively cooperating with other local NGOs. CDD is a unique organization, which managed to reach out to the religious communities previously not considered by other actors. This organization managed to implement number of ground breaking initiatives involving educators and youth from religious education institutions and to reach out to religious communities across the country. CDD is also the first sub-group member of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum – Georgian National Platform which enables the organization to work and give recommendations with other subgroup members on the topics related to Democracy and Human Rights.
