Die Freie Waldorfschule Magdeburg unterrichtet ca. 580 Schülerinnen der Klassenstufen 1 bis 13. In den Klassen 1 bis 12 werden jeweils zwei Klassen gebildet und von der Einschulung bis zum mittleren Schulabschluss geführt. Ein Teil von ihnen wird anschließend im 13. Schuljahr auf das Abitur vorbereitet. Etwa 280 Schüler*innen - und damit fast alle Schüler der Klassen 1 bis 6 - besuchen auch den angeschlossenen Schulhort. Bei Bedarf können sie dort bereits ab 6.30 Uhr vor dem Unterricht und nachmittags bis 18.00 betreut werden, so dass den Eltern eine Berufstätigkeit ermöglicht wird. In den Schulferien wird eine Betreuung von 7.00 bis 17.00 Uhr angeboten. An die Hortbetreuung schließt sich ab Klasse 7 ein Betreuungsangebot in der offenen Ganztagsschule an, das besonders von Schüler*innen der Klassenstufen 7 und 8 wahrgenommen wird. Der Schulträgerverein betreibt außerdem eine weitere Waldorfschule am Standort Thale (Harz). Die Freie Waldorfschule Magdeburg wurde am 1. September 1990 begründet und ist damit 32 Tage älter als das Land Sachsen-Anhalt. 1. The Freie Waldorfschule Magdeburg teaches approx. 580 pupils from grades 1 to 13. The Independent Waldorf School Magdeburg was founded on September 1, 1990 and is 32 days older than than the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
