THE VILA BOA DO BISPO PARISH COUNCIL IS A MUNICIPALITY FROM THE NORTH REGION OF PORTUGAL, SITUATED AT 40KM FROM THE OPORTO CITY CENTER. THE PARISH COUNCIL SERVES A COMMUNITY OF 3245 INHABITANTS, PROVIDING DIVERISIFIED SERVICES IN THE AREAS OF ROAD MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENT, EDUCATION SUPPORT AND FREE TIME ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE, POST OFFICE SERVICES, INFORMATION AND LEGAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR ALL THE POPULATION. THE PARISH COUNCIL ALSO DEVELOPS NUMEROUS PROJECTS IN SEVERAL AREAS OF INTEREST SUCH AS CULTURE, IDENTITY, TRADITIONS AND CRAFTS, YOUTH AND SPORTS, NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT. FOR THE PERIOD OF 2017-2021 THE PARISH COUNCIL HAS DETERMINED THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF RELEVANCE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AND YOUTH PARTICIPATION POLICIES AND ACTIVITIES IN ORDER TO CREATE A MORE COHESIVE COMMUNITY WITH A DEEPER SENSE OF BELONGING, ESPECIALLY AMONG YOUNGER PEOPLE, TRYING TO FIGHT YOUTH UNEMPLOYEMENT AND MIGRATION TO LARGE CITIES.
