About Organization
Informagiovani Nichelino opens in 1989, as part of the "Youth Project" adopted by the Municipality. Its activity are based upon principle of access to pluralistic and complete information, a fundamental right of citizenship for a critical and conscious growth. In addition to the main information function, Informagiovani Nichelino serves as “listening point”, orientation, observation of the youth world, local and broader scale, place to promote youth policy initiatives and projects. The Service is organized in 9 sectors, according to main topics: education, professions, lifelong learning, work, social life, leisure and culture, holidays, sports and European / international mobility. Information&Orientation target is mainly young students attending high schools and vocational schools in the area: workshops and thematic meetings on labor market, definition of a professional path, school and education guidance. Other initiatives relate to active citizenship promotion, conscious uses of IT tools, critical consumption, legality, awareness on new opportunities at local, national and European level. Municipality promotes and encourages volunteering, active citizenship initiatives and projects for young residents. Among them: -JoinUs Stupinigi Sonic Park: volunteering experience during a summer cultural festival held inside the Stupinigi hunting lodge, one of Unesco Heritage sites in Piedmont. -National Civic Service: volunteering experience aimed to foster participation in activities organized and promoted in the area, offering opportunities for comparison, dialogue and construction of one's identity and autonomy. -Viaggio della Memoria: experience of active and conscious citizenship, an understanding of the complex historical processes that led to the tragedy of the deportation and the Shoah with a visit to the concentration camps; -Nichelino Urban Lab: project to foster creative expression among youth groups, preventing risky behaviours and hate speech, promoting entrepreneurship, employability in the context of musical promotion and the organization of events ofperforming arts; -WIP Project - Work In Progress: a project involving young NEET people in the area in the definition of a professional path through educational actions and promotion of work culture - Calendario Civile: a path on memory and constitutional rights, to offer students historical lenses to analyse the current situation, in order to consolidate skills of active citizenship and social protagonism. In addition, ideas born directly from young people from the area and from the informal youth table were strengthened and implemented with the aim of promoting aggregation, socialization and social cohesion: -Cultura e Bellezza: an initiative conceived by a group of young people to involve their peers with fewer opportunities in organized visits to museum, to promote knowledge of the territorial cultural heritage and foster aggregation; -Dall’altro lato del palco: project shared by the participants of the informal youth table for the enhancement of local musical talents and for experimentation, following training courses, ideation, organization and coordination of an event in the area. Since 2004, career guidance and job placement have been launched for young unemployed people with social distress, in order to provide opportunities, opportunities and tools for personal growth For several years, territorial youth policies have launched solidarity projects in support of learning, the fight against injustice and organized crime and promoted a culture of hospitality and interculture within local High Schools and vocational schools and others aimed at citizenship, through formal and informal modalities. several experiences have been initiated within the school, the main ones: -ComunitAzione: project aimed to tackle educational poverty of young people(11-17yo), through the combination of activities in and out the school framework -Scu.Ter: project willing to promote and integrat
