About Organization
The Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture (MJC) de Persan is a popular education association created in 1965. Its purpose is to promote the autonomy and development of people, to provide everyone with access to education and culture, so that everyone can participate in the construction of a more united society. It offers people, young people and adults alike, the opportunity to become aware of their abilities, to develop their personality and to prepare themselves to become active and responsible citizens of a living community. The MJC de Persan is developing a project where culture, from performing arts to multimedia, has an important place. 23 employees, 7 of whom are permanent, work alongside about fifteen volunteers to bring the project to life. The activities are organized around 4 main axes: a youth animation center 12-17 years old, a digital pole with a shared production workshop (of the Fab Lab type), a cultural and events pole with a program of shows for the young people, and a center of around twenty cultural and leisure activities.
