Verbund sozialer Dienste gGmbH (VSD) is working in the field of child and youth welfare in the surrounding of Bad Essen near Osnabrück. Charly's Kinderparadies Sonnenwinkel gGmbH was founded in 2016 as a subsidiary of VSD. In the meantime, a nature and adventure kindergarten, a crèche and a family centre are located under the roof of the facility. The nature and adventure kindergarten combines the advantages of a regular kindergarten with those of a forest kindergarten. It is located on the Bad Essener Berg and is integrated into the adjacent forest. There are two morning groups with 25 places (Sun and Cloud) and an afternoon group with 25 places (Rainbow) for children aged 3-6 years. The crèche was built on to the nature and adventure kindergarten and is located directly next to the forest. There is room for three groups: two morning groups and one afternoon group. Since 1 January 2020, the centre has been recognised as a family centre. A path that was not always easy due to the Corona pandemic, but has now almost been completed. Family centres are day care centres that, in addition to education, upbringing and care of the children, also offer their parents and other parents from the surrounding social area encounters, education, advice, information and support. The focus of the work is on strengthening the parents' educational and upbringing skills. Offers are initiated to help parents cope with everyday family life and to reconcile family and work, meetings and exchanges with parents are promoted.
