About Organization
1.1. The Foundation “Source of Hope” (Izvor nade – FIN) is a non-political, humanitarian, independent, non-government, and non-profit organization and an institution that operates in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was established in Sarajevo in 2010 by a civil initiative of a group of enthusiasts, activists, and donors to offer a resourceful place for young people, students, and the local community to live and learn in a more dignifying, engaging and enriching social and educational environment. Its aims and values are peace, freedom, fight against social exclusion and discrimination, promotion and respect for the rich cultural diversity, promotion, and development of democratic values among its citizens. In order to be able to continuously carry out activities in the local community and at the same time add European value that is reflected in multiculturalism and solidarity, we want to have the opportunity to be a part of the European Solidarity Corps program. Our vision is to become a recognizable foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond as an institution that gives various types of support to students in achieving the best educational results and their wider social engagement. Social responsibility and engagement, active citizenship and solidarity actions, democratic principles and participation, human rights, non-violence, youth volunteering, and peace-building are aspects that we are living in our working culture. The activities of the organization are focused on youth and mainly students from rural areas. Those who are marginalized, stigmatized and with fewer opportunities for personal development and regarding that, we mainly work on projects that are providing this basic equal opportunity that is answering student needs for becoming the best version of itself in the academic field. FIN (Foundation source of hope) is providing support to students through providing a special type of accommodation with a Program of peer mentoring, professional support, and activities that are beneficial for our students who are using our dorm accommodation. We organize forums on the topic of strengthening self-confidence among young people, encouraging mobility, and volunteering. The FIN's regular activities include cultural and educational programs, seminars, workshops, lectures focusing on non-formal learning methods, promotion and dissemination of information on EU programs, volunteering and social entrepreneurship, social activism, environmental actions, and cooperation with other relevant stakeholders. We have our own private dormitory where students are accommodated. The student dormitory has a study hall, a reception hall, for ceremonies and various informal activities, management offices, a meeting room, a restaurant, a gym, and socializing halls. We can summarize our work as a Foundation that exists in order to create opportunities for youth. Our dorm's life is the biggest part around which our work is conducted.
