HECANSA (Hoteles Escuelas de Canarias SA) is a public company of the Government of the Canary Islands (Ministry of Tourism) whose objective is to contribute to the strengthening of the competitiveness of the tourism sector in the Canary Islands, by training and promoting the professionalization of its human resources and their companies. HECANSA is a training center and a professional school that offers Dual Vocational Training, using a methodology that allows students to be trained by acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge applied from day one with real clients. In this way, the student who completes his / her studies with HECANSA, acquires the theoretical knowledge and has the necessary practical experience to later face the world of work within the tourism sector. HECANSA has 3 Hotels Schools open to the public: 1) Hotel Escuela Santa Cruz in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Tenerife island), 2) Hotel Escuela Santa Brígida, in the town of Santa Brígida (Gran Canaria island); 3) Casa de Los Herrera Rural School Hotel (La Gomera island). We also have a Rural Hotel La Casa de Los Camellos and a School Restaurant reopened in 2017 in Melenara (both on the island of Gran Canaria). All of them are establishments open to the public and are training centers for HECANSA students. The advantage of HECANSA, compared to other teaching modalities in the Canary Islands, is based on an innovative methodology within the dual training system, where it combines face-to-face training with on-the-job training, and with a clear orientation to labor insertion and to employment, reinforcing the employability of its graduates by supporting us in our placement agency HecansaEmplea HECANSA (Hoteles Escuelas de Canarias SA) es una empresa pública del Gobierno de Canarias (Consejería de Turismo) cuyo objetivo es contribuir al fortalecimiento de la competitividad del sector turístico en Canarias, mediante la formación y promoción de la profesionalización de sus recursos humanos y de sus empresas. HECANSA es un centro de formación y una escuela profesional que ofrece Formación Profesional Dual, utilizando una metodología que permite formar a los estudiantes mediante la adquisición de conocimientos teóricos y prácticos aplicados desde el primer día con clientes reales. De esta forma, el alumno que completa sus estudios con HECANSA, adquiere los conocimientos teóricos y tiene la experiencia práctica necesaria para posteriormente afrontar el mundo laboral dentro del sector turístico.
