About Organization
Kogo is a contemporary art gallery that opened at The Widget Factory in Tartu in 2018. Our mission is to empower Baltic region artists' international visibility and encourage dialogue through contemporary art to promote discussion on societal issues through personal experiences and expressions. At the centre of Kogo's diverse exhibition programme are artists' solo projects and exhibitions created together with artists and curators. Starting from 2021, we curate each year's programme under a motto (2021 Ecology–Economy, 2022 Past is Present). Each year contains five exhibitions in Kogo's premises and several international collaboration projects and exhibitions. Kogo gallery model is a hybrid, combining the activities of commercial art galleries and the kunsthalle type of program-creation to support artists and initiate communication between different social strata. Kogo is committed to supporting free creative expression, interdisciplinarity, imagination, and innovative ideas in art, maintaining creative relationships, uniting and growing the community of artists and art enthusiasts.
