Biohof Blumenthal eG

Biohof Blumenthal is an organic farm that grows vegetables and keeps 50 goats in a near-natural environment. Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has distributed vegetables since 2017. We are about to start a cheese dairy and a minimum-packaging farm shop. In addition, we commit ourselves to educational work. Biohof Blumenthal is part of Gemeinschaft Blumenthal, a generation-spanning socio-ecological project where 44 adults and 22 children live together; we work together in different business branches such as a farm, a restaurant and a hotel hosting seminars and workshops. We also organize cultural events such as festivals, concerts and theatre performances. Together with other local organisations we actively support and drive forward sustainable development in our region and beyond. For more Information: www.schloss-blumenthal.de We supply people in our region with fresh organic products and care for animal welfare, circular economy, regional production, biodiversity and want to keep our soils in good heart, reduce packaging and share our knowledge and appreciation of organic farming. Volunteers gain insight into all our business branches and thus into the entire process from farming to processing and commercialising our products. They learn and experience the principles of a regional circular economy and how our different business branches are organised and managed. They also get to know the way we live together in our community and how we put innovative organisational approaches such as All Leader or participatory decision-making into practice.
