Föreningen Furuboda is a non-profit organisation which has approximately 160 employees and works primarily with disadvantaged and/or disabled people. Its activities focus on general adult education as well as vocational orientation measures for unemployed adolescents, in which the organisation pursues an interdisciplinary approach. In addition, the organisation operates an adult education centre whose offers include one-year classes and summer classes. Föreningen Furuboda also organises employment programmes as well as programmes in cooperation with government agencies and the European Social Fund. The main purpose of these classes is to motivate and support adolescents to find an employment or an appropriate vocational training position. Many of these adolescents are affected by social problems such as poverty, homelessness, a previous criminal record, drug abuse and a lack of adult care and affection. Föreningen Furuboda offers computer classes, social training, job application training, and training relating to different employment and education systems. Föreningen Furuboda also offers practically oriented training, coaching, and job application and social advice, as well as Swedish for immigrants.
