Kilkenny Steiner School is a small, independent school situated in rural Kilkenny county with currently 5 classes, from ages 4 to 13. We attract families from a wide area in the county of Kilkenny as well as further afield who are interested in the kind of education we offer. The school follows the Steiner-Waldorf curriculum which educates children in a way which meets the developmental needs of the child through artistic, academic and practical learning and recognises the child’s emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual capacities. We are a community-led school, administered by a voluntary Board of Management. We are currently developing our provision to include secondary age pupils and by 2024 we aim to include pupils up to Class 9 (age 15-16.)
