The Brücke Rendsburg-Eckernförde e.V. is an organisation that was founded in 1985 with the aim of supporting mental health. It originated from a group of volunteer doctors, social workers and nurses, which grew to a network of many social initiatives, projects and smaller associations with over a 1.200 employees. At Brücke, professional work, health related services and volunteering all contribute to a more humane approach to work and mental health. The eight main strategic aims are: • Better mental health in the region • High quality and constant improvement • Increase customer satisfaction • Create professional innovation • Systematic support of employees • Set public standards • Ensure economic stability • Support civic engagement and volunteering The organisation has been growing steadily since its foundation and has had a focus on diversity and inclusion for the last years. Solidarity through volunteering, the wellbeing of all individuals and the community as a whole, as well as the recognition of these are top priorities. With over 40 different initiatives in the following fields, the organisation helps keep the region diverse and healthy, with the main focus on: • Support of people with disabilities • Child, youth & family support • Social psychiatry • Addiction counselling • Nursing and care • Health related services • Employment, training & certification • Hotel & catering • Self-help & volunteering
