About Organization
The Diakoniewerk Simeon is a social organization dedicated to accompanying a diverse range of individuals in their daily lives. Our primary focus lies on supporting adult individuals with cognitive impairments who require assistance in their everyday activities. Our main goal is to promote the participation and inclusion of individuals with cognitive impairments in society as a whole. We are committed to enabling them to actively engage as equal members in all aspects of life. In doing so, we do not only take into consideration their individual needs and abilities but also aim to raise awareness of their diversity and strengths within society. A significant aspect of our work involves fostering tolerance and acceptance towards people with cognitive impairments. We strive to eliminate prejudices and barriers by educating, sensitizing, and actively contributing to a more inclusive and respectful coexistence. Through targeted awareness campaigns, we aim to enhance society's understanding of the unique needs and potentials of these individuals, valuing their abilities. Currently, we provide support and care to approximately 250 individuals with various cognitive limitations. Each person receives individualized assistance to facilitate living a self-determined life. Our dedicated team of professionals and caregivers are passionately committed to helping participants achieve their personal goals and find their place in society.
