About Organization
We are one of the 81 provincial branches of AFAD - Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency, located in Manisa, Turkiye. We mainly aim to prevent disasters and minimize diasater-related damages, plan and coordinate post-disaster response and promote cooperation among various government agencies and non-governmental organizations. We coordinate and manage disasters such as earthquakes and floods and help survivors to get their lives back on track. We as Manisa Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency, remain comitted to developing necessary strategies and serving people in need at home and abroad. Focusing on risk management, we are working hard to provide effectiveness and reliability in service delivery in disaster management . Although we have just 60 staff including chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats experts , fishmen, search and rescue technicians,engineers and ICT experts, in fact we have been planning, directing, supporting, coordinating and effectively implementing the necessary activities in order to prevent disasters and mitigate disasters, respond to disasters and complete post-disaster recovery thanks to our volunteers' endeavour. We are proud that we have thousands of volunteers enrolled on our system of volunteering , two hundreds of which have completed all the trainings by us.
