With around 160,000 members, Naturfreunde Österreich is one of the largest and most important leisure and nature conservation organizations in the country. With 460 local groups, nine state organizations, 9,500 officials and employees, 150 huts and houses, 100 climbing and bouldering halls and a whitewater competence center, the association presents itself as a modern leisure partner. The regional organization of Nature Friends in Carinthia includes 10,000 members in 38 independent local groups throughout Carinthia.
