About Organization
The City of Mimizan is a town of approximately 7,000 inhabitants located in the New Aquitaine region, the Landes department, on the Atlantic coast. Since 2021, the City has engaged in the Global Territorial Convention approach, which aims in partnership with the CAF to develop a social and family policy on the intermunicipal territory. 200 agents work for the city, including 80 in the “education” department. The "education" department directly manages a nursery, a child center, a youth area as well as a Youth Info structure for 16–25-year-olds. We work in collaboration with four school groups, a middle school and a high school. Our service supports a social and family project whose aims are: - the environment - citizenship - social equity for access to culture, sport or leisure - parenthood - helping the animation of social life - helping people to accede to their civil rights Since three years, our department support an urban culture festival called Mouv' which aims to promote the involvement of young people in their city. We work in collaboration with other cities and other youth structures on exchange projects. We were partners in the organization of the “2023 Cross-Border Meeting Days” which took place in Jaca in Spain. We hosted the last “Cross-border Meeting Days 2024” in the town of Mimizan. In August 2024 we organized a youth exchange with Jaca and Pampelune (spain) whose aim was the invasive species.
