About Organization
The association is dedicated to young people, offering them a range of board sports and educational activities through popular education projects. Aware of the lack of opportunities for many, the association aims to open up the world of mobility, exchanges and non-formal education to young people with fewer opportunities. Ride In 971's mission is also to make board sports accessible to people with disabilities and/or who are far removed from sporting activities. Our target group is 11 yo to 28 yo. Local people who are with less opportunities. The main activities are : 1. The surf club : - Picking up teenagers at several meeting points on the island in towns with no direct access to the seaside and surf lessons on the appropriate spot depending on the weather conditions and the level of the pupils. - Sessions with instructors specialising in handi-surfing for groups of people with different disabilities. - Health surfing’ sessions: we work with specialised institutes to provide groups with special needs with an adapted sporting activity. -Surf camp, accommodation during the school holidays in small groups for 11-14 year olds and 14-17 year olds. 2. Youth non-formal education activities : -Creation of YE with our youth -Making opportunities and TC to the locals youths workers -Participation in various local programmes focusing on citizenship, environment and youth involvement at local level -English courses to youths with big difficulties
