About Organization
Cours et Jardins gUG is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 in Berlin. Based in Kreuzberg, it brings together educational, training, non-formal education and leisure activities all over Germany and Europe. The name refers to the theatrical terms in French of the stage (stage left, “cour” and stage right, “jardin”). Our activities involve: - After-school care for kindergarten and primary school at Ecole Voltaire in Berlin (with children from 3 to 14 years old). - Thealingua: a method of language learning through theatrical creation. We run workshops in schools in Germany to teach languages, e.g. French, German and Spanish, with the help of theater methods (with children from 6 to 18), as well as training courses for adults wishing to adopt the method. - Professional training courses: we provide group training on themes such as body language and confidence, teambuilding and the use of theater tools in teaching. This is addressed to adults (teaching staff, youth workers, theater pedagogues, language professionals, etc). - Theater courses: from improvisation classes (La Liber) to text-based theater (“En scène” in French and “Auf die Bühne!” in German). - European exchange projects: we are currently working on three Erasmus+ projects, focusing on innovative practices in education, creating new theatrical practices and creating artivism with youngsters. The profile range here goes from young adults (18-30) to adults (30+).
