ISHA (International Students of History Association) is an international organisation aimed at connecting students of the historical sciences. Our roots date back to 1989, when the Iron Curtain began to fall and a group of students founded an association that would enable students of history to come into contact, cooperate, and exchange ideas, something that had not been possible before. Today, ISHA continues this mission, organising international conferences with a strong focus on academic exchange and workshops in transferable skills, as well as the importance of cultural and social exchange. It welcomes students of the historical sciences on all levels, including doctoral students and early career researchers. Since 1999, Carnival, ISHA’s academic journal, has been published yearly. The ISHA Secretariat is located at the Humboldt University in Berlin, and our institutional archives are located at the University Archive of KU Leuven, Belgium.
