Plataforma del Voluntariat de les Illes Balears

The Plataforma del Voluntariat de les Illes Balears (from now on Plataforma) is a federation that brings together volunteer entities across the Balearic Islands. Our main role is to promote and support both, organisations and individuals involved in voluntary action. We represent more than 50 non-profit entities working in different social, environmental, cultural and community fields throughout the islands. Our aims/activities are the following: (1) Raise awareness of the social value of volunteering by promoting a culture of civic engagement. (2) Support and connect volunteer organisations to strengthen collaboration and effectiveness. (3) Provide training, advice and resources to improve the quality and impact of volunteer work. (4) Act as a link between the volunteer sector and public institutions, represdenting volunteers' interests and contributing to the development of volunteering-related policies. Our target groups are volunteer organisations, citizens, public bodies and education institutions committed to encouraging civic engagement and social participation.
