University of Gabes

The University of Gabes was created on August 4, 2003, by Decree No. 1662 to contribute to the development of teaching and scientific research in the South-East District (Gabes Governorate, Medenine Governorate, Tataouine Governorate, Kebili Governorate). 15 Higher education and Research Institutions under the University of Gabes: • Engineering School, • Faculty of Sciences, • 13 Higher Institutes. Human resources On the site of the University of Gabes, there are 1400 research professors, administrative staff, engineers, technicians, library staff, 715 psychologists working at the university. International cooperation • 60 bilateral cooperation agreements and conventions • The University is an active partner in 18 cooperation projects under the European Union TEMPUS (13), ERASMUS Mundus (5) and ERASMUS Plus (13) programs. • The University is a member of the Agency Universities de la Francophonie (AUF) • Since September 2012, the University hosts an office of the German Academic Exchange Office (DAAD). • Since September 2016, the University has been hosting a Career and Certification Center (4C).
