The Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired "Gledamo Srcem" was founded in July 2018 with the aim of bringing together blind and visually impaired individuals, as well as members of other social groups, and integrating them into society as equal members through various activities. Since its inception, the association has been dedicated to social engagement and improving the quality of life for people with visual impairments. Our mission is to create an inclusive society where people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else. We aim to break down the prejudices about blind and visually impaired individuals, empower them, and support them in realizing their potential. The primary goals of the "Gledamo Srcem" Association are: 1. Improving Quality of Life: Enhancing the daily functioning and integration of blind and visually impaired individuals into the social community. 2. Public Education: Informing and educating the broader public about the lives and challenges faced by people with visual impairments, as well as proper ways to interact with them. 3. Encouraging Artistic Abilities: Promoting and supporting the development of creative potential among blind and visually impaired individuals. 4. Training in Modern Technologies: Equipping blind and visually impaired individuals with skills to use computers, mobile phones, and other modern technologies to enhance their independence and competitiveness in the job market. 5. Employment Support: Providing assistance in job searching and integration into the labor market. 6. Challenging Prejudices: Promoting a positive image of blind and visually impaired individuals and fighting against stereotypes and misconceptions. The "Gledamo Srcem" Association actively works toward achieving its goals by implementing various projects and workshops. To date, dozens of projects have been completed, with the support of various private and public institutions. These projects include educational programs, training sessions, artistic workshops, public performances, and promotional activities, all aimed at improving the lives of blind and visually impaired individuals and raising public awareness about their capabilities and needs. Through its work, the association educates both blind and visually impaired individuals and sighted people about what it means to live with visual impairments and how to cope with these challenges. By promoting and performing publicly, the association actively works on breaking down prejudices and creating a more inclusive society. The vision of the association is for all its members to have equal opportunities and access to resources, and to encourage their independence and active participation in society. The mission is for as many people as possible to learn that, despite impaired or lost vision, they can live, work, and achieve their desires.
